Say it Ain't So, Guys!

Tom and Ray Magliozzi are hanging up their microphones this fall. That's right, Car Talk will will no longer  "...Waste another perfectly good hour," of your Saturday mornings as a live broadcast. Known across the nation as Click and Clack The Tappet Brothers, these two have broadcast their show for almost 35 years - 25 of those years nationwide on National Public Radio.

In a blog post on their web site, the two Bostonians said, "So as of October, we’re not going to be recording any more new shows. That’s right, we’re retiring."

The good news is that the show will remain on the air but in a "best-of" format instead of a live broadcast.

Maybe this will give Tom more quality time with his MG TD.

  1. I actually got to talk to them on-air about twenty years ago. "Car Talk" is a great show from two guys who are a whole lot smarter than they admit (Tom has a doctorate from MIT).
