I suspect that the television advertisement posted here coincides with the American introduction of the Triumph GT6 in 1966. Terms like "fastback" and four speed "stick" take us back to a time when such phrases were code for fashionable driving fun. The GT6 hit a sweet spot in the market where its good looks and straight 6 power earned it the nickname "Poor Man's E-Type."
We've been spoiled by improvements in steadying cameras as you'll note from the bouncing shots taken both from the chase car and from the interior of the GT6. I can't imagine what contortions the camera guy went through to get the steering wheel and dashboard shots used in the ad.
