Here is an ad for Jaguar's sublime E-Type or XK-E as it was informally called here in the states. From 1965, this advert touts the new 4.2 liter engine as well as a raft of standard features that made the E-Type such great value for the price.

The price noted below for the roadster is a princely $5,525.00. In 2013 dollars we're talking about $41,000.00. Can you think of a modern two-seat high performance roadster that makes you stop to just look at it for that kind of  money?
